Brand Advisory Committee

Charge

The Brand Advisory Committee’s charge is to review and advise on proposed changes to the UC Berkeley brand guidelines and strategy. The committee will serve in an advisory capacity and make recommendations to Communications & Public Affairs for final decision-making.

As stewards of one of the most recognized and highly-regarded higher education brands in the world, it is imperative that we be thoughtful in how we represent the campus to the world. We have a duty to protect the brand and the excellence and storied history it represents. We have an opportunity to leverage the brand in ways that further and support our mission. And we have an obligation to continuously strengthen the brand and ensure it can continue to be leveraged to create opportunities for generations to come.

The committee’s tasks are as follows:

  • Meet as needed to review proposed changes to the brand guidelines.

  • Surface and provide feedback on issues and challenges related to the brand and contribute to discussions around possible solutions.

  • Advocate for principal brand strategy and serve as an ambassador for the brand.
