Your email signature acts like a business card. It provides contact info while consistently expressing the university’s visual brand.
Instructions for Adding a Signature
Here is how to add an email signature into your gmail account.
- Click the gear (settings) icon and click “see all settings”
- Navigate to the “general” tab
- Scroll down to signature
- Click “+ Create new” and enter a signature name
- Copy and paste the template of your choice into the edit signature box
- Edit the text with your information
- Under “Signature defaults,” navigate to the “for new emails use” box.
- Choose the signature name. Repeat for the “on reply/forward use” box
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and save changes

- You may list websites of your choice, such as your department or a site you may be promoting. (no more than 3)
- Recipient settings — including dark mode — can affect logo visibility. We recommend using the optimized campus logos that are available on this page. If you choose to use your unit lockup, use a similar size and resolution png file of either the Berkeley Blue on white or Berkeley Blue on California Gold.
