DESCRIPTION Join the social media team in the Office of Communications and Public Affairs who helps create and shape the visual expression and voice of the Berkeley brand on our social-media channels.  Responsibilities:
  • Manage The #BerkeleyPOV Project featured on our Instagram channel (@ucberkeleyofficial).
  • Discover students with compelling stories.
  • Conduct one student interview per week.
  • Transcribe and edit interviews to meet size restrictions.
  • Acquire suitable photos of the subject. 
  • Gain real-world experience working for the main campus communications office.
  • Stay up-to-date on campus news and events and learn about campus policies.
  • Flexible hours.
  • 5-8 hours per week.
  • Passionate about UC Berkeley and our diverse community.
  • Creative self starter with excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Organized and detail oriented. 
  • Ability to work independently. 
  • Maintains confidentiality. 
  • Strong computer skills, especially Google Suite. 
  • Enthusiasm and “can-do” attitude. 
  • Must be eligible for work study.
  • Good editing skills.
  • Experience using Photoshop.
  • Media studies/English major, or journalism minor.
